Tanjung karang: Agrobank has launched the AGROKorban-i Savings Account to help the Muslim community plan their finances more systematically for the Aidiladha sacrificial ritual. Group president and chief executive officer, Datuk Tengku Ahmad Badli Shah Raja Hussin, said the Shariah-compliant account can be opened for as little as RM20. "The act of qurban requires not only sincerity and means, but also sound financial planning. Through this account, Agrobank helps customers save consistently so their wishes become easier to fulfil. The AGROKorban-i Savings Account is part of our effort to provide practical financial solutions, while fostering a purposeful savings culture that benefits individuals, families and the community," he told the media during the account's launch today at Agrobank's Tanjung Karang branch.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the launch coincided with the 2026 Agro Korban programme, the bank's annual initiative to engage the community through qurban and distribution of sacrificial meat. Tengku Ahmad Badli Shah said Agrobank aims to facilitate 5,000 qurban portions next year through the AGROKorban-i Savings Account across all its branches. He added that the bank will continue offering products that meet customer needs, providing the community with early, Shariah-compliant preparation for the qurban ritual.
"This initiative will help people plan their finances better, strengthening social responsibility and benefiting both themselves and the community," he said.
