Kuala lumpur: The Federal Land Development Authority (FELDA) has appointed Tan Sri Ahmad Badri Mohd Zahir as its new chairman.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, FELDA announced that this appointment reflects the government's confidence in Ahmad Badri's leadership, integrity, and extensive experience in managing strategic organizations and contributing to the country's economic development.
The agency emphasized that Ahmad Badri's leadership is expected to strengthen governance, enhance management excellence, and drive FELDA's transformation agenda in line with Malaysia's sustainable and inclusive development goals.
Ahmad Badri has amassed over three decades of experience in the public and corporate sectors since joining the Ministry of Finance in 1989. Throughout his career, he has held several key positions, including serving as Treasury Secretary-General from 2018 to 2020.
Previously, Ahmad Badri served as chairman of the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) and was on the boards of several key national institutions, including Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM), Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB), and Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB).
Currently, he is the chairman of RHB Bank Bhd and the Malaysian Rubber Board (LGM), while also sitting on the board of Sime Darby Bhd.
He holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Hull in the United Kingdom and a bachelor's degree in Estate Management from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM).
FELDA expressed confidence that under Ahmad Badri's leadership, the organization will continue to strengthen the FELDA Group's transformation agenda, improve economic sustainability, and create greater value for more than three million settlers.
The agency added that Ahmad Badri's leadership is expected to lead FELDA towards new achievements while safeguarding the welfare of settlers and ensuring long-term prosperity for future generations.
