Kuala lumpur: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has called on all Malaysians to continue to strengthen unity, preserve the spirit of tolerance, respect, and love which are the foundations of a multi-racial and multi-cultural nation in conjunction with this year's Deepavali celebrations. In a Facebook post, he expressed his hope that this celebration would bring happiness and prosperity to all those celebrating it.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ahmad Zahid emphasized the symbolic importance of unity, comparing it to the light of a lamp that illuminates the darkness. He expressed confidence that the unity of Malaysians will continue to guide the country towards a prosperous and peaceful future. He extended his wishes by saying, "Happy Deepavali. Deepavali Nal Valthukkal."
Ahmad Zahid, who also serves as the Member of Parliament for Bagan Datuk, extended Deepavali greetings, particularly to his parliamentary constituents. Deepavali, also known as the Festival of Lights, will be celebrated tomorrow by the Indian Hindu community nationwide.
