Aidiladha: A Time for Reflection and Unity, Says Communications Minister

Kuala Lumpur: Aidiladha should serve as an opportunity for self-reflection to demonstrate sincere devotion to Allah SWT and to strengthen Muslim brotherhood, Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil said. In a Facebook post today, he highlighted the significance of Aidiladha by reminding Muslims of the profound sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim A.S and his son, Prophet Ismail A.S, who upheld Allah's command with utmost sincerity and trust.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Fahmi emphasized that Aidiladha is a symbol of devotion and sacrifice, urging Muslims to use this occasion for reflection and to express sincere devotion to Allah SWT. He also prayed for the acceptance of all acts of worship by Muslims on this blessed day as the country prepares to celebrate Aidiladha tomorrow.

Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri also weighed in on the occasion, calling on Muslims to embrace the true meaning of sacrifice. She emphasized that sacrifice should be reflected not only through acts of worship but also in efforts to strengthen unity, nurture compassion, and uphold the well-being of the people. She expressed her hope that this year's sacrificial rites would be accepted by Allah and mark the beginning of a more blessed, harmonious, and principled life.

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Federal Territories) Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa added that Aidiladha serves as a reminder of the true meaning of sacrifice, sincerity, and obedience. She highlighted how the occasion unites hearts in the spirit of giving and caring for others, expressing hope that the sacrificial rites performed would reflect gratitude and empathy towards those in need. Dr Zaliha also extended prayers for the pilgrims in the Holy Land, wishing them ease in their rituals and the acceptance of their haj as 'haj mabrur'. She concluded by expressing her hopes that the sacred day would be celebrated with gratitude, serenity, and togetherness, reinforcing the spirit of Aidiladha to strengthen humanitarian values in daily life.
