Air Quality Deteriorates with Unhealthy Levels in 20 Areas

Kuala Lumpur:Twenty areas across the nation reported unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) readings as of 4:30 pm today, with Johan Setia in Selangor experiencing the highest level at 166.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, other affected areas in Selangor include Shah Alam with an API of 164, Klang at 158, Petaling Jaya at 155, and Banting at 143.

In the capital, Cheras recorded an API of 162 and Batu Muda 160, while Putrajaya registered 157. The situation in Johor saw Pasir Gudang at 164, Larkin at 162, Kota Tinggi at 155, Pengerang at 152, and Kluang at 110. Negeri Sembilan's affected areas were Nilai with 161 and Seremban at 153.

Pahang's Balok Baru and Indera Mahkota both recorded 156, followed by Kuala Terengganu in Terengganu at 154, Bandaraya Melaka in Melaka at 125, and Kota Bharu in Kelantan at 103.

Meanwhile, 45 areas reported moderate API levels, while only three areas maintained a good level of air quality. API readings are categorized as good for levels between 0 to 50, moderate from 51 to 100, unhealthy from 101 to 200, very unhealthy from 201 to 300, and hazardous for readings above 300.
