Sarawak: The air quality in nine areas in Sarawak was reported to be at unhealthy levels as of 8 am today, attributed to transboundary haze. This marks a slight improvement from the previous day when 11 areas were affected.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS) recorded an Air Pollutant Index (API) reading of 194 in Serian, while Kuching had a reading of 172. Other areas affected include Samarahan with an API of 170, Sarikei at 161, Bintulu and Sri Aman both at 157, Samalaju at 152, Sibu at 151, and Miri at 133.

An API reading from 0 to 50 is categorized as good air quality, 51 to 100 as moderate, 101 to 200 as unhealthy, 201 to 300 as very unhealthy, and anything above 300 as hazardous. These readings are disseminated hourly and are derived from 68 air quality monitoring stations positioned across the nation.
