Kuala lumpur: Work to repair a burst pipe in Sungai Way, near the cable bridge along the Federal Highway/Damansara-Puchong Highway (LDP) intersection, is expected to be completed by 9 tonight.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, an Air Selangor spokesperson reported that as of 4 pm, 60 percent of the repair work on the 600-millimeter asbestos cement pipe has been completed. The issue originated from an old pipe bursting, with repair efforts commencing at 9:45 pm last Saturday. Completion of the work is anticipated by 9 pm tonight.
The spokesperson noted that the delay in repairs was due to the extensive damage to the pipeline, which was approximately 25 meters long. Additionally, the presence of multiple utility pipelines at the site complicated the excavation process.
The burst pipe has led to water supply disruptions in several areas, including SS 7, Glenmarie Golf and Country Club, PJU 1A Kelana Idaman, SS 3, Hyatt Saujana/Saujana Glenmarie, Jalan U1/13, Citta Mall, and Taman Perindustrian Hicom Glenmarie.
Air Selangor has responded to the situation by deploying nine water tankers to assist residents in the affected areas since 8 am yesterday. This alternative water supply will continue until the repair work is completed and normal water service is fully restored.
