The Imam of Al-Aqsa Mosque in Baitulmaqdis, Sheikh Ali Umar Yaqoub Abbasi, has expressed his appreciation to the government and people of Malaysia for their unwavering prayers and continued humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian people, both in Gaza and in Al-Quds (Baitulmaqdis). Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the appreciation was personally conveyed to him by Sheikh Ali Umar during a courtesy call today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim shared that during the meeting, both sides discussed the importance of safeguarding the sanctity of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the future of Al-Quds. The Prime Minister highlighted the initiatives undertaken by the MADANI Government to support efforts aimed at protecting and liberating the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

In a Facebook post, Anwar Ibrahim expressed his hope that their efforts would continue to receive divine blessings as Malaysia stands in solidarity with the Pal estinian people against what he described as the terrorism of the Zionist regime of Israel. The meeting also included the presence of Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Dr. Zulkifli Hassan.
