Bentong: The Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, has advised recipients of homes provided under the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) and Rumah Rakyat Al-Sultan Abdullah (Ru'RASA) programmes to make their residences comfortable for the whole family. He urged all recipients to foster a spirit of goodwill and harmony while maintaining cleanliness in their village surroundings.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Al-Sultan Abdullah emphasized the importance of maintaining the homes, which were given at no cost, during a handover ceremony in Kampung Sungai Perdak. He reminded recipients not to rent or sell these homes, noting that they represent a significant effort and should be cherished. The ceremony saw the Sultan presenting keys to 32 families, including 28 ERC homes and four Ru'RASA homes, with Tengku Mahkota of Pahang, Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah, also in attendance.

Al-Sultan Abdullah expressed his gratitude to all parties involved in constructing the homes to assist those affected by floods. In total, 121 ERC homes have been completed across seven districts in Pahang, with a total cost of RM12.2 million.

A recipient, Chow Loy Kee, 67, shared his relief at receiving a home after living in a relative's container in a durian orchard following the collapse of his house during the 2021 floods. Chow highlighted the significant impact of the disaster that left him with damages exceeding RM80,000.
