Kuala lumpur: National muay thai fighter, Ahmad Nor Iman Aliff Rakib or better known as Alif Rakib, has won the ONE Interim Strawweight Muay Thai World Championship title after defeating Thailand's Sam-A Gaiyanghadao today. In the action that took place at Lumpinee Stadium, the 22-year-old athlete triumphed via knockout in the fifth round.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the victory enabled Alif Rakib to make history as the first Malaysian combat athlete to qualify to compete for the title. "Thank you to the Malaysians who came to support at Lumpinee Stadium. I promised to bring this belt back to Malaysia," Alif expressed, dedicating the victory to his father.

The win also earned Aliff Rakib a victory bonus of USD50,000 in addition to the championship belt. Yesterday, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim urged all Malaysians to extend strong support to Alif Rakib for the match.
