Amanah Eyes Major GE16 Gains In Kelantan – Mohamad

Penang: Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) has the potential to win more than 10 state seats in Kelantan in the 16th General Election (GE16), said party president Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu. He expressed confidence due to the steadily improving support for the party among the local population and the party's unity and effective seat distribution strategy.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mohamad emphasized the challenges faced by Amanah as a middle-ground party in a political landscape dominated by UMNO and PAS. However, he noted that the landscape has changed since the last election when Perikatan Nasional (PN) was the ruling federal government with a strong campaign. With PN no longer in power, Mohamad believes the voting pattern will shift in favor of Amanah in the upcoming election.

The current composition of the Kelantan State Assembly sees PAS holding 42 of the 45 seats, with Barisan Nasional (BN) holding two seats in Galas and Nenggiri, and Amanah holding one seat in Kota Lama.

Meanwhile, Mohamad informed reporters that the Amanah National Convention for this year is scheduled to be held in Penang this November.
