‘Amihan’, trough of LPA to bring rain showers over parts of PH

MANILA: The northeast monsoon or “amihan” and the trough of a low pressure area (LPA) will bring rain showers over parts of the country, the weather bureau said Monday.

Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) forecaster Obet Badrina said no tropical cyclones are seen to enter or develop in the country this week.

Scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are forecast over Caraga and Davao Region due to the trough of the LPA.

Residents of those areas are warned against possible flash floods or landslides that could be caused by moderate to heavy rains.

Meanwhile, amihan will continue to bring light rains over Aurora, Quezon, Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Bicol Region, and Eastern Visayas.

It will also cause isolated light rains over the rest of Luzon and the Visayas.

The rest of Mindanao will experience isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms and the trough of the LPA.

Strong winds and rough seas prevail across extreme North
ern Luzon, Southern Luzon, the Visayas, and the northern and eastern sections of Mindanao.

Elsewhere, moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas are expected, PAGASA said.
