Panglima bayu: A male angler, 25, was found drowned in a river near Panglima Bayu Mosque here today after he fell into the river when he suffered an epileptic seizure. Fire and Rescue operations commander, Senior Fire Officer Alias Zulkifli said firefighters found the victim in the river after receiving a call about the incident at 3.03 pm.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, preliminary investigations based on information from the victim's sibling revealed that the victim suffered an epileptic seizure before falling into the river. The body was handed over to the police for further action.

Meanwhile, the victim's friend, Ahmad Aris Risqi Lukman Hakim, 15, said the incident happened at about 2.30 pm when the victim was fishing with his 10-year-old sibling. The younger sibling ran back home and told their mother that the victim fell into the river, and she asked Ahmad to help find him and contact the Fire Department.

Ahmad shared that they often go fishing at the river, which is about 200 metres from home.
