Another Victim Of Bukit Kajang Toll Plaza Accident Dies

Kajang: Another victim involved in the four-vehicle crash at the Bukit Kajang Toll Plaza died today after nine days at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Kajang Hospital. Kajang police chief ACP Naazron Abdul Yusof said the 48-year-old male civil servant died at 11 am.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, ACP Naazron Abdul Yusof expressed regret over the passing of the victim, stating that the remains will be handed over to the family once the post-mortem process at Kajang Hospital is completed. This recent death brings the total number of fatalities in the incident to two.

The accident, which occurred on September 27, involved a lorry suspected of experiencing brake failure, a car, and two sport utility vehicles (SUVs). The crash resulted in the death of a one-year-old boy and injuries to seven other individuals.

Authorities have remanded the 42-year-old lorry driver until October 1, and the case is currently under investigation under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. Naazron mentioned that the investigation report is still being finalised as the police are awaiting a full analysis from the relevant agencies.
