Anthony Loke Denies DAP Involvement in Negeri Sembilan Political Crisis

Seremban:DAP Secretary-General Anthony Loke has stated that the party is not responsible for the ongoing political crisis in Negeri Sembilan and remains committed to serving the public.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Loke emphasized that DAP has not engaged in any activities to cause instability and should not be held accountable for the turmoil. Despite accusations during the last state election campaign, he asserted that the party is not part of the state government and should not be linked to the disruptions.

Loke highlighted that the turmoil involves complex issues beyond the party's responsibilities. Speaking at the 24th Negeri Sembilan DAP Annual Convention, he reiterated that DAP's focus is on their duties, advising elected representatives to remain committed to their roles. Present at the convention were Negeri Sembilan Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun and state DAP chairman J. Arul Kumar.

Loke, who also serves as Seremban MP, mentioned that Barisan Nasional (BN) holds the majority in the Negeri Sembilan State Legislative Assembly, and there is no reason for the coalition to not continue its governance. He noted that the Yang Dipertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir, had requested the Menteri Besar to propose new names for the state executive council (Exco) to facilitate the administration's continuity.

He pointed out that the absence of Exco members could hinder the state administration's efficiency, as many decisions require the State Executive Council's approval.

In his speech, Loke urged DAP members to prepare for potential challenges amidst the state's uncertain political climate. He emphasized strengthening the party and serving the public rather than focusing on opponents' issues.

Loke commended the PH-led Negeri Sembilan administration under Aminuddin's leadership for avoiding corruption scandals over the past eight years, highlighting this as a testament to the leaders' integrity.

Meanwhile, Aminuddin expressed PH's aim to secure additional seats and recapture the Tampin parliamentary seat in the next general election to bolster public support. He stressed the importance of party leaders and machinery engaging with the community to demonstrate their commitment to public interests.
