Anti-Bully Bill 2025 Debate to Take Center Stage in Dewan Rakyat

Kuala lumpur: The debate on the Anti-Bully Bill 2025 will be among the key highlights of today's Dewan Rakyat sitting, marking a significant moment in the legislative process. The bill is scheduled to be tabled for its second reading before being debated and possibly passed by Members of Parliament after the oral question-and-answer session.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Order Paper published on Parliament's official website outlines the day's agenda. The session will begin with several oral questions, including one from Vivian Wong Shir Yee (PH-Sandakan), who will inquire whether the Ministry of Finance plans to replace the current government subsidy scheme with social assistance channelled via MyKad, following the successful implementation of the SARA programme distribution mechanism.

Additionally, Datuk Che Mohamad Zulkifly Jusoh (PN-Besut) is set to ask the Minister of Economy about the progress of plans to classify government assistance based on disposable income, aiming for a fairer distribution of subsidies. This includes addressing the needs of segments of the T20 group who are experiencing cost-of-living pressures.

Syerleena Abdul Rashid (PH-Bukit Bendera) will also participate in the session by questioning the Minister of Communications on potential amendments to the FINAS Act 1981. These amendments would aim to regulate online content, including content distributed via streaming platforms and social media.

Another noteworthy inquiry comes from Datuk Wan Saifulruddin Wan Jan (PN-Tasek Gelugor), who will ask the Minister of Education if there are plans to introduce wardens as a designated position in schools where they are deemed necessary.

The current Dewan Rakyat sitting, which spans 35 days, is set to conclude tomorrow.
