Antique Comelec urges qualified registrants to avail of RAP

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) Antique provincial office urged qualified registrants to avail of the Register Anywhere Program (RAP), which will end on Aug. 31.

Provincial election supervisor Salud Milagros Villanueva said as of Friday, the Comelec office in San Jose de Buenavista enlisted 29 registrants via RAP.

‘The RAP is a program of the Comelec to provide convenience for those who could not go home or be physically present to still be able to register only here in Antique,’ she said.

The program will end earlier than the regular registration because of the verification and processing at the Comelec central office.

To date, Antique has 398,607 registered voters, including those enlisted since the poll registration resumed on Feb. 12, 2024.

Meanwhile, Villanueva said poll aspirants who put up their campaign tarpaulins are not yet committing premature campaigning.

‘Those aspirants are not yet considered candidates, so there is yet no premature campaigning,’ she said.

She said the aspirants wo
uld only be considered candidates at the start of the campaign period, which is Feb. 11 to May 10, 2025, for those running for the Senate and partylist posts and March 28 to May 10, 2025, for House representatives, provincial, city, and municipal officials.
