Kuala lumpur: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has arrived at the Dewan Rakyat this evening to present the 2026 Budget. Anwar, dressed in a light blue baju Melayu and carrying a document bag containing the text of the budget presentation speech, arrived at the Main Building of Parliament at 3.50 pm.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Prime Minister was accompanied by his wife Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan, Deputy Finance Minister Lim Hui Ying, Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar, and Treasury Secretary-General Datuk Johan Mahmood Merican. The tabling of the Supply Bill 2026 is scheduled to take place at 4 pm and will be broadcast live on local television stations, including BERNAMA TV, social media platforms, and Parliament's YouTube page.

The bill aims to allocate a sum of money from the Consolidated Fund (KWD) for government services and expenditure for 2026. Based on the Dewan Rakyat sitting calendar, the Budget 2026 debate session at the policy level will start next Monday until Oct 28, followed by a winding-up session by ministers from Oct 29 to Nov 4.

Meanwhile, the debate at the committee level will be from Nov 5 to 27 before being approved by the Dewan Rakyat. The Third Meeting of the Fourth Term of the 15th Parliament for the Dewan Rakyat will span 35 days, concluding on Dec 4.
