Anwar Calls for Balanced Development in Johor

Johor bahru: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim emphasized the need for a more balanced development approach in Johor, focusing on rural areas, villages, and the urban poor, alongside the continuation of high-impact projects.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar highlighted that Johor's development should not solely concentrate on mega projects but also include basic amenities that directly benefit the people, such as affordable housing, schools, stalls, community halls, and other public facilities. He pointed out the significant disparity in development between regions such as Johor Bahru and Ulu Tebrau, despite their proximity.

During his speech at the Kita Geng MADANI Johor: Malam Anak Muda Kempas program, Anwar stressed the importance of prioritizing essential infrastructure over high-rise buildings in areas like Ulu Tebrau. He underscored the necessity of ensuring access to schools, community halls, and mosques to support the local population.

The event was attended by Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate for the Kempas state seat, Faezuddin Puad, and PKR Youth chief Muhammad Kamil Abdul Munim. Anwar, who also serves as Finance Minister, called for public support in electing leaders who are courageous, decisive, and capable of representing the people's voices and aspirations to achieve more balanced development.

Anwar expressed his desire for Malaysia to become a strong and respected nation, emphasizing the need for young leaders who can carry forward the aspirations of the people and shape Johor's future effectively. He reiterated the government's commitment to conducting the 16th Johor state election in a free and fair manner, ensuring non-interference in the affairs of the Election Commission.

With 172 candidates contesting 56 seats, the election is set for July 11, with early voting scheduled for July 7. Anwar highlighted the significance of safeguarding the electoral process to maintain the country's respect and success on the global stage.
