Anwar Calls for Focus on Pre-Implementation Issues in Development Projects

Kuala lumpur: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has urged secretaries-general and department heads to focus on pre-implementation issues in development projects to ensure their successful execution. These issues include the status of subsiding or wakaf land, land acquisition processes, erosion, and the alignment of waterways.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar stressed that recurring challenges in these areas could lead to wasted allocations and diminish the intended development benefits for the public. He emphasized the importance of prioritizing local resources, products, and equipment to optimize development expenditure. Anwar suggested that any savings achieved should be reinvested to enhance essential facilities and key infrastructure for the people.

The call for action came after Anwar chaired the second National Development Action Meeting, which focused on coordinating development projects beyond the 11th Malaysia Plan. He highlighted the need for comprehensive guidelines on utility protection and relocation, as well as preliminary studies to optimize project development.
