Kuala Lumpur: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has urged party leaders and members to reinforce the organisation, enhance their networks, and gear up for the 16th General Election (GE16). Anwar emphasized that PKR serves as a platform for the people's movement, advocating real change.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar, who is also the Prime Minister, highlighted that PKR's mission is to represent the suffering, defend the weak, and uphold truth, even though the journey is challenging. This message was shared on Facebook, emphasizing the party's role as a beacon of hope.
Anwar's presidential keynote at the 2024/2025 PKR National Congress was not merely a policy summary but a declaration to maintain PKR as a stronghold against divisive politics. He stressed the need for reform that strengthens integrity and national governance based on justice and accountability.
He further elaborated that true reform requires wisdom, patience, and strategy, drawing inspiration from historical figures who achieved lasting change. Anwar also acknowledged PKR leaders like former deputy president Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli and new deputy president Nurul Izzah Anwar for their continuous contributions.
Differences in opinion, Anwar noted, should be approached with wisdom to prevent division. He also stressed the significance of public support for the MADANI Economy, which aims to boost investments and implement fair subsidy reforms for sustainable economic growth.
The government, Anwar stated, is committed to structural reforms in education, health, and housing, with initiatives like the Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah Programme reflecting their dedication to public welfare.
The recent election results saw Anwar winning the president's post unopposed, while Nurul Izzah triumphed over Rafizi for the deputy president's role.
