Kuala lumpur: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today issued an apology for any perceived harshness in his tone when addressing civil servants at various engagements.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar expressed his sentiments in a video shared on Facebook, acknowledging comments he received about his approach. "Many people have told me, 'Anwar, you are now the Prime Minister. You cannot raise your voice. You have to speak calmly, nicely and engage with the people.' I am trying," Anwar stated. He noted that while he aims to communicate calmly, certain issues resonate deeply with him, prompting a stronger response.

The video, capturing Anwar's speech at a gathering with civil servants from the Central Zone at Universiti Islam Selangor, featured Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar. Anwar explained that his firm tone underscores the vital role civil servants play in implementing government policies and furthering national development.

"If that is regarded as a mistake, then I apologise. But believe me, I am only expressing what I truly feel," Anwar continued. He emphasized the necessity of sharing his feelings with his team, the key players responsible for the success of the nation's programmes and policies.
