Kuala Lumpur: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is set to embark on a two-day working visit to Vietnam, beginning today, where he will deliver a keynote address at the ASEAN Future Forum (AFF) 2025, as announced by Wisma Putra in a statement.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the forum, slated for tomorrow, offers a platform for dialogue among ASEAN leaders, policymakers, and various stakeholders to discuss ASEAN's future direction. In his address, Anwar Ibrahim will underscore Malaysia's commitment to MADANI values and outline the country's aspirations and priorities as the ASEAN Chair for 2025. Key topics will include promoting inclusive economic development, digital transformation, and efforts against climate change.
Anwar will also meet Vietnam's key leaders, including General Secretary of the Communist Party To Lam, President Luong Cuong, and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. These meetings aim to enhance bilateral cooperation, focusing on areas such as trade, maritime economy, and joint efforts against illegal fishing, alongside discussions on regional issues.
This visit underscores Malaysia's dedication to strengthening ties with ASEAN Member States and enhancing bilateral relations with Vietnam, aligning with Malaysia's ASEAN Chairmanship theme of 'Inclusivity and Sustainability,' stated Wisma Putra.
