Kuala lumpur: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has extended his condolences to Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin on the passing of his mother, Mariam Kassim. In a heartfelt message, Anwar expressed sympathy and offered prayers for the bereaved family.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar shared his condolences in a post on X, stating that he and his wife, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, prayed for Hamzah and his family to be granted strength and fortitude during this difficult time. Anwar also conveyed a prayer for Mariam, hoping for divine mercy upon her soul, forgiveness for her sins, and her placement among the righteous.
Mariam, aged 90, was interred at the USJ 22 Muslim Cemetery in Subang, marking the end of her journey.
