Washington: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced that his forthcoming meeting with United States President Donald Trump will serve as an essential platform for sustaining dialogue aimed at promoting peace and increasing humanitarian aid access to Gaza. He emphasized the importance of leveraging this meeting to amplify the calls for justice and peace across international platforms.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar expressed that while this meeting is not a final solution, it represents a significant step towards halting all forms of attacks and threats. He shared these thoughts in a recent Facebook post, underscoring the beginning of a critical journey toward peace.
In his message, Anwar extended his prayers for the safety of Malaysian volunteers participating in the Global Sumud Flotilla humanitarian mission currently heading to Gaza. He reaffirmed the Malaysian government's unwavering support for the mission and its dedication to ensuring the timely delivery of aid to those in need.
Anwar highlighted the importance of the volunteers reaching Gaza safely, acknowledging that they are expected to enter a high-risk area shortly. He noted that many regional partners, including Malaysia, Turkey, Italy, and Spain, are collaborating closely, demonstrating global solidarity through their direct ties with various international actors.
The Prime Minister praised the efforts of the 34 Malaysians involved in the mission, stating that their actions will be remembered in history for advocating justice and defending humanity. He acknowledged the challenges ahead, recognizing potential threats from adversaries but commending the resilience and hope demonstrated by those partaking in the mission.
