Anwar Meets China’s Minister of Equipment Development to Bolster Bilateral Relations

Kuala lumpur: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today received a courtesy call from General Xu Xueqiang, Minister of Equipment Development under China's Central Military Commission. This meeting is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen Malaysia-China bilateral relations.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar emphasized that the meeting highlighted the deepening cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the areas of defence and security. "Malaysia values its close partnership with China in the field of security, including joint training exercises, and emphasises the importance of collaboration in strategic technology," he posted on social media.

The Prime Minister also expressed appreciation for China's constructive role in regional affairs, including efforts to mediate ceasefires between Cambodia and Thailand. He acknowledged China's continued support in addressing the crisis in Myanmar.

Anwar further conveyed his respect to China's top leadership and expressed his anticipation of meeting with President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang early next month.
