Anwar’s Role in Cambodia-Thailand Ceasefire Lauded by Wan Rosdy

Kuala lumpur: The success of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in representing Malaysia as ASEAN Chair and leading the peace initiative between Thailand and Cambodia has been commended by UMNO vice-president Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail. He emphasized that all Malaysians should support Anwar's efforts, irrespective of political affiliations.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Wan Rosdy highlighted that Malaysia's capability as a respected diplomatic actor on the international stage is evident through this initiative. He stated that political differences should not overshadow foreign relations and global humanitarian issues. The ceasefire brokered by Malaysia between the conflicting parties is an achievement that all Malaysians should take pride in.

Wan Rosdy urged all parties to approach international matters with maturity and wisdom, cautioning against prioritizing political interests over the nation's reputation and the dignity of Malaysians on the global stage.

The announcement of the ceasefire agreement between Thailand and Cambodia was made by Anwar after a special meeting he chaired in Putrajaya. The meeting saw the participation of Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and Acting Thai Prime Minister Phumtham Wechayachai.
