Application Process For Affordable Homes, Land Matters In Johor Made Easier By MPC

Johor Bahru: The application process for affordable houses and land matters in Johor will now be far easier and more efficient following the implementation of the Bureaucratic Red-Tape Reform (RKB) under the initiative of the MADANI Government.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC) stated that this improvement will benefit the people and the business community, aligning with the government's commitment to enhance public service efficiency. The number of required documents for applying for Johor's affordable houses has been reduced from 17 to just five, and these can be submitted digitally, eliminating the need for hard copies and physical presence at government offices.

Notably, this reform not only saves time and energy for the public but also reduces government operational expenses by RM15.3 million annually. This change reflects a significant increase in public sector productivity, providing tangible benefits to the population.

For the property and investment sectors, the MPC highlighted that the Serah Balik Kurnia Semula (SBKS) process duration has been cut down to three-and-a-half months from the previous 17 months. This reduction leads to an estimated compliance cost savings of RM290 million annually, facilitating quicker investment approvals and earlier commencement of development projects, thereby enhancing trust in the government's service delivery.

During the 2025 MADANI Rakyat Programme (PMR) held at the Toppen Shopping Centre, Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar acknowledged the efforts of the Johor Housing Development Corporation (PKPJ) and Johor Land Administration by presenting them with certificates of appreciation for their successful implementation of these improvements.

Shamsul Azri emphasized the importance of prioritizing people and facilitating business dealings to expedite processes, reduce costs, and improve productivity, demonstrating that the efficiency of public services can always be enhanced. These initiatives are part of the RKB Programme led by MPC, in accordance with the Public Service Reform Agenda (ARPA) and the Public Administration Efficiency Commitment Act.
