Army Strengthens Community Engagement Through PSPN Carnival

Bangkok: The Malaysian Army (TDM) continues to strengthen its engagement with the community through the National Defence Strategic Plan (PSPN) Central Zone Carnival 2026, held at Kampung Melayu Wira Damai, Gombak here today. Chief of Staff of the Army Western Field Command Headquarters Maj Gen Datuk Norsham Md Tap said the programme, based on the One Stop Community Support concept, was organised to foster closer relations between the military and the community in line with the aspirations of the PSPN and the Malaysia MADANI framework.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, programmes like this help the military and the community to strengthen their relationship. They also bring together various agencies to provide services to the people, as mentioned by Norsham after officiating the carnival. He elaborated that the programme reflected the Army's role not only in national defence but also in supporting community well-being through collaboration with government agencies and related stakeholders.

Norsham also expressed appreciation to the Gombak District Office and the Selayang Municipal Council (MPS) for their cooperation in making the programme a success. The carnival, themed 'Tentera Turun Padang, Rakyat Jadi Senang', brought together a range of public services, assistance and community initiatives under one platform.

Activities included health and medical screenings (MEDCAP), dental examinations and treatment (DENCAP), food aid distribution, free motorcycle servicing, free haircuts, Social Welfare Department assistance, Rahmah MADANI and Agro MADANI sales, Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) career exhibitions, displays of Army and public agency assets, as well as safety demonstrations. The programme featured 11 booths from various ministries, government agencies, and related organisations, providing local residents with direct access to a range of services.
