ASEAN Adopts Kuala Lumpur Declaration 2045 To Chart Region’s Long Term Direction

Kuala Lumpur: Southeast Asian leaders today adopted the Kuala Lumpur Declaration on ASEAN 2045: Our Shared Future, setting a foundation to guide the region's development and cooperation over the next two decades.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the declaration was endorsed during the 46th ASEAN Summit, marking a significant milestone in the bloc's commitment to building a more resilient, innovative, dynamic, and people-centred regional community.

The new vision, ASEAN 2045, will succeed the current ASEAN 2025: Forging Ahead Together, which was adopted in 2015. This transition indicates ASEAN's continuous effort to adapt and respond to the evolving global landscape while focusing on sustainable development and regional stability.
