Aurelius Hospital Unveils Negeri Sembilan’s First TrueBeam Radiotherapy System

Kuala lumpur: Aurelius Hospital Negeri Sembilan has further strengthened its healthcare capabilities by becoming the first private hospital in the state to offer the TrueBeam Linear Accelerator (LINAC) radiotherapy system for cancer treatment. Its chief executive officer Joanna Tighe said the technology is designed to target cancer cells with high precision while minimising radiation exposure to surrounding healthy tissue, thereby improving treatment effectiveness, patient comfort and clinical outcomes.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the development also reinforces the hospital's Aurelius Oncology Centre, which now offers a more comprehensive range of cancer treatment services. "The enhancement of the Aurelius Oncology Centre with the TrueBeam Linear Accelerator technology reflects our continued commitment to bringing advanced medical technology closer to the people of this state and neighbouring states such as Selangor," Tighe told Bernama at the Aurelius Hospital 2026 Open Day here today.

She added that the introduction of the high-precision radiotherapy technology enables patients to receive world-class treatment without having to seek care outside the state, while improving access to more comprehensive and advanced oncology services. The hospital has a total capacity of 140 beds, a new outpatient centre and additional specialist consultation rooms.

Joanna said Aurelius Hospital Open Day 2026, held today, provided the hospital with an opportunity to strengthen ties with the community and strategic partners by showcasing its facilities and the wide range of specialist services it offers. She said the programme reflects the hospital's commitment to providing accessible healthcare services while allowing visitors to experience treatment in a modern, welcoming and family-friendly environment.

"A variety of activities were also held, including free health screenings, health talks by specialists, the Tiny Doc programme for children, a blood donation campaign, health exhibitions and interactive activities to promote healthy lifestyle practices," she said. Also participating in the programme were the hospital's various departments, including Rehabilitation, Dietetics, Pharmacy, Nursing Education, Marketing and Communications, as well as Aurelius Medcare.
