Siena:The investigation into a viral video purportedly showing a Muslim individual engaging in a non-Muslim religious ritual has been handed over to the appropriate authorities, including state Islamic religious departments, for further examination.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Dr. Zulkifli Hasan, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs), stated that updates on the investigation would be provided once the authorities have gathered complete information. He emphasized that the investigation is currently in the hands of religious authorities and expressed hope for timely updates.

Dr. Zulkifli made these remarks following his attendance at the MADANI Knowledge Assembly with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. The event, organized by the Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs), featured welcoming remarks by Zulkifli and an opening lecture by Turkish Islamic scholar Sheikh Prof Dr. Muhammad Fadhil al-Jilani al-Hasani on Imam al-Ghazali's interpretation of Surah Yusuf.

The Malaysian Islamic Development Department (JAKIM) and the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Department (JAWI) are continuing their efforts to monitor the situation and increase public awareness. JAKIM director-general Datuk Dr. Sirajuddin Suhaimee previously noted that the department had taken coordinated actions involving state Islamic religious departments and the Royal Malaysia Police, following their respective jurisdictions and applicable laws.
