Kuala lumpur: Axiata Group Bhd shares eased in early trade today after the group reported a decline in revenue for the second quarter ended June 30, 2025 (2Q 2025). At 9.46 am, the counter slipped three sen to RM2.55 with 711,400 shares traded. According to BERNAMA News Agency, Axiata revealed in a stock exchange filing that its net profit increased to RM270.82 million in 2Q 2025, compared to RM134.90 million in the same period last year. Despite the rise in net profit, the group's revenue dropped to RM2.97 billion from RM3.32 billion previously. This decline was attributed primarily to the unfavorable impact of foreign currency translation as the currencies of its operating companies depreciated against the ringgit.
