Azizan Jaafar Appointed New CEO Of VentureTECH

Kuala lumpur: VentureTECH Sdn Bhd has appointed Azizan Jaafar as its chief executive officer (CEO) with immediate effect. In a statement today, the government-backed impact investment company highlighted Azizan's extensive experience in corporate finance, investment, and strategic leadership across both private sector and government-linked organisations.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Azizan brings strong expertise in investment structuring, capital management, and value creation. The company emphasized that his appointment underscores VentureTECH's continued focus on strengthening its role as a catalytic investor in advancing Bumiputera participation in technology and innovation sectors.

As CEO, Azizan will lead VentureTECH's strategic direction with an emphasis on enhancing portfolio performance, strengthening value creation initiatives, and advancing the development of Bumiputera-led companies. VentureTECH noted that his leadership will further support the company's mandate in building critical national capabilities.

Before joining VentureTECH, Azizan served as group chief financial and strategy officer at Perbadanan Ekonomi Islam Perak Sdn Bhd, where he managed finance, corporate strategy, and key support functions across a diverse portfolio, including sectors like renewable energy, healthcare, plantation, and property.

VentureTECH chairman Datuk Ir. Khalilur Rahman Ebrahim remarked that Azizan's strong financial and strategic background will be instrumental in advancing the company's mandate to develop competitive Bumiputera-led companies in high-growth, high-value sectors.

As a wholly owned subsidiary of the Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT), VentureTECH currently supports more than 30 investee companies across various high-growth sectors. With a portfolio valuation exceeding RM2.5 billion, the company has contributed to creating over 4,000 high-skilled jobs. VentureTECH remains committed to its mandate of catalysing growth in sectors such as biotechnology, green technology, and emerging technologies, aligning with national aspirations like the Bumiputera Economic Transformation Plan 2035 (PuTERA35).
