Balai Ikhtisas Malaysia Supports Government’s ‘Second Chance’ Initiative To Promote Inclusive Employment

Kuala lumpur: Balai Ikhtisas Malaysia (BIM) is proud to be one of the six associations that signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Social Security Organisation (PERKESO) in support of the 'Second Chance' initiative - a national effort aimed at enhancing employment opportunities for vulnerable groups, particularly former inmates. The MoU, witnessed by Human Resources Minister YB Steven Sim, reflects BIM's continued commitment to nation-building and inclusive economic growth through professional development, skills-matching, and employer engagement.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, BIM's participation in this initiative underscores its dedication to addressing societal challenges and fostering a more inclusive workforce. By aligning with the 'Second Chance' initiative, BIM aims to provide former inmates with the necessary resources and opportunities to reintegrate into society successfully. This collaboration marks a significant step towards reducing recidivism rates and promoting social equity.

The 'Second Chance' initiative is designed to bridge the gap between marginalized communities and potential employers, offering tailored support and training programs to equip individuals with the skills required in the current job market. PERKESO's role in facilitating this program highlights the government's proactive approach to addressing unemployment and social reintegration.

BIM's engagement in this project not only enhances its reputation as a leader in professional advocacy but also strengthens the collective effort to create a more inclusive and supportive employment landscape in Malaysia. The MoU signing is a testament to the power of collaboration between governmental bodies and professional associations in driving positive societal change.
