Bank Muamalat Emphasizes Unity and Inclusivity in National Day Events

Kuala lumpur: Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad (Bank Muamalat) is marking this year's National Day celebrations by highlighting the values of togetherness and unity, reflecting its continued commitment to creating a positive impact on society and supporting efforts to build a more inclusive and harmonious community. The celebration, held today at Laman Warisan, Jalan Melaka, also featured a choir performance by members of the Malaysian Association for the Blind (MAB), involving the visually impaired community.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Bank Muamalat president and chief executive officer Datuk Khairul Kamarudin expressed that the spirit of independence should be reflected through efforts that create meaningful impact for society, rather than merely through celebrations and patriotic symbols. He emphasized that independence encompasses the responsibility to build a more inclusive society, respect one another, and ensure that no one is left behind.

Khairul highlighted that Bank Muamalat's commitment to inclusivity and community empowerment goes beyond National Day celebrations, as it is part of their continuous efforts through various community initiatives. These efforts include the bank's active involvement in iTEKAD, a micro-entrepreneur empowerment programme, and various corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives focused on supporting those in need, underprivileged communities, and community development.

During the event, Bank Muamalat presented a CSR contribution to MAB representatives to provide financial assistance to families from the B40 and asnaf groups within the visually impaired community. The bank also extended contributions to media partner Media Prima and the Media Prima Palestine Humanitarian Fund, which were received by Media Prima group editor for news and current affairs Datuk Azhari Muhidin.

As part of this year's National Day celebrations, Bank Muamalat launched the 'Malaysia Kita, Cerita Kita' campaign in collaboration with the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). The campaign highlights the stories, experiences, and perspectives of Malaysians, reflecting the diversity that shapes the nation's identity while providing a platform for various voices to share their own stories about Malaysia.

In line with the spirit of independence, Bank Muamalat stated it would continue efforts to make banking services more accessible, engage with communities, and help create better lives together.
