Bank Rakyat Extends Six-Month Payment Deferment to Sandakan Fire Victims

Sandakan: Bank Kerjasama Rakyat Malaysia Bhd (Bank Rakyat) is offering a deferment of financing instalment payments for up to six months to its customers who were affected by a fire incident in Kampung Bahagia, Sandakan, Sabah. The fire tragedy resulted in the destruction of approximately 1,000 houses, leaving many residents in distress.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the deferment includes various financing products such as Housing-i Financing, Personal-i Financing, Vehicle-i Financing, Vehicle Hire Purchase-i, Micro-i Financing, Pawnbroking-i, and Credit Card-i. However, this offer is subject to specific terms and conditions set by Bank Rakyat.

Bank Rakyat stated, "We express our sympathy to all the victims affected by this fire tragedy." The bank emphasized that the moratorium on financing instalment payments is part of its proactive measures to support customers during challenging times.

Furthermore, Bank Rakyat conveyed its hope that the affected victims will remain resilient in overcoming the unforeseen challenge. The financing payment deferment assistance is aimed at providing relief and reducing the financial burden on those impacted by the fire.
