Bernama Engages in Strategic Talks with Malaysian Border Control Chief

Kuala lumpur: The top management of the Malaysian National News Agency, Bernama, paid a courtesy call on the Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) director-general, Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain, at his office today. The meeting marks a significant step in fostering strategic cooperation between the two entities.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the delegation from Bernama was led by chief executive officer Datin Paduka Nur-ul Afida Kamaludin, and included key figures such as editor-in-chief Arul Rajoo Durar Raj, deputy editor-in-chief (News Service) Mohd Shukri Ishak, and acting deputy editor-in-chief (Economic News Service) Harlina Samson. The AKPS was represented by deputy director-general (Management) Ismail Mokhtar, deputy director-general (Policy) Zuraini Othman, and director of investigations and prosecution SAC Lee King Chuan.

The meeting, which lasted over an hour, was the first of its kind between Bernama's top management and the leadership of AKPS. Discussions were centered on strengthening strategic ties and cooperation, especially in providing accurate information to the public. The dialogue also focused on enhancing collaboration to raise public awareness of AKPS's roles and responsibilities through Bernama's platforms.

During the meeting, the Bernama delegation expressed their commitment to support AKPS in improving its communication strategies. They discussed various ways to effectively publicize the agency's achievements and to contribute to a more informed public understanding of AKPS's mission and operations.
