Bernama Mobile Studio and MCMC to Launch ‘Kembara Internet’ Programme

Kuala lumpur: The Communications Ministry is set to introduce the 'Kembara Internet' programme through a strategic partnership between Bernama Mobile Studio and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC). Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil emphasized the importance of this collaboration in ensuring effective outreach, particularly in providing accurate information to the public and assessing Internet coverage on the ground.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Minister Fahmi highlighted that Bernama Mobile Studio's technical abilities and logistical support are crucial for the success of this field communication initiative. He suggested a joint venture with MCMC to launch the programme, which involves touring and evaluating Internet coverage. During an interview at the Bernama Mobile Studio, in conjunction with the Malaysia Day 2025 celebration at the PICCAArena Convention Centre, Fahmi expressed the ease of setting up and operating the mobile studio for such purposes.

Fahmi expressed optimism about expanding the collaboration with additional programmes in the future, especially in the context of official government events. Key figures present at the programme included Communications Ministry Secretary-General Datuk Seri Mohamad Fauzi Md Isa, Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) CEO Datin Paduka Nur-ul Afida Kamaludin, and Bernama Editor-in-Chief Arul Rajoo Durar Raj.

Bernama Mobile Studio, a customized motorhome, serves as a new broadcasting platform, facilitating live news coverage, Bernama TV and Bernama Radio programmes, and major national events. With multi-camera live production capabilities, the vehicle can function in areas without electricity, making it ideal for disaster coverage or remote locations.

Minister Fahmi also cautioned the public against online scams and bullying, which are increasingly prevalent. He urged social media users to be wary of posts and avoid falling prey to love or investment scams, striving for a Malaysia free from digital colonization, bullying, and scams.
