Kuala lumpur: The Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) Motorcycle Club has organised the Kembara Jalur Gemilang convoy as a platform to foster ties among staff and instill a sense of national pride among the public. Its president, Amrizan Madian, stated that the one-day convoy, organised by Bernama and supervised by the Bernama Employees' Club, will involve former and current Bernama staff riding 20 high-powered motorcycles. The event is set to commence from the Gombak Toll Plaza at 7.30 am tomorrow.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, convoy participants will travel 200 kilometres along Karak Highway, distributing Jalur Gemilang flags to motorcyclists before concluding in Kuala Kubu Bharu. The programme is distinct from previous initiatives as it not only involves former Bernama staff, but is also held outside Wisma Bernama during National Month. The convoy serves as a medium to boost the patriotic spirit among Malaysians by distributing Jalur Gemilang flags during their travels.
During the flag-off at Wisma Bernama, officiated by Bernama Chief Executive Officer Datin Paduka Nur-ul Afida Kamaludin, Bernama Editor-in-Chief Arul Rajoo Durar Raj, and Bernama Acting Deputy Editor-in-Chief (News Services) Mohd Shukri Ishak were present. Meanwhile, Bernama Motorcycle Club secretary Muzammil Abdullah noted that the programme acts as a catalyst to strengthen relations between co-workers, contributing to increased productivity.
Since the club's founding on August 31, 2023, it currently comprises about 80 members and has conducted various convoy programmes, including visits to Mat Kilau's mausoleum in Jerantut, Pahang, the club's anniversary celebrations in Janda Baik, Pahang, and a series of tours to Kota Bharu in Kelantan; Kuantan, Pahang, and around Selangor.
