Bernama Must Uphold Journalistic Integrity Amid AI Challenges: CEO

Kuala lumpur: Staff of the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) must continue to uphold journalistic ethics and ensure that every piece of content produced is accurate, verified, and factual, especially amid the challenges posed by artificial intelligence (AI) and deepfakes. Chief executive officer Datin Paduka Nur-ul Afida Kamaludin emphasized the importance of maintaining Bernama's status as a trusted and credible news source in Malaysia during its 59th anniversary celebration.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Nur-ul Afida highlighted the need for increased vigilance in the digital era, particularly with the emergence of AI and deepfake technologies. She stressed that journalists must ensure that the sources used are reliable and authentic, a practice that has always been upheld by Bernama. Addressing reporters after the anniversary event at the Wisma Bernama lobby, she reiterated her message to the Editorial Department to continue producing truthful, accurate, and factually correct content.
