Kelantan: Organiser of large-scale book sales, Big Bad Wolf Sdn Bhd, has announced a massive book sale event in partnership with Perbadanan Perpustakaan Awam Negeri Kelantan to promote reading habits and enhance English literacy. The event will feature one million books and will coincide with the upcoming school holidays.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the English book sale is set to take place on the second floor of Mydin Mall in Tunjong from May 29 to June 9, operating daily from 10 am to 10 pm. Geetha Nair, the Public Relations Officer for Big Bad Wolf Sdn Bhd, highlighted the initiative's goal to provide affordable books, with prices starting as low as RM3, to encourage the public to embrace a reading culture amidst the dominance of electronic devices and social media.
Nair emphasized the importance of reading for intellectual development and creativity, expressing the desire for everyone to have access to at least one book. Speaking at the Exclusive Media Preview Ceremony at the Kelantan State Public Library, she noted the benefits of technological advancements in promoting reading culture, particularly in offering the tangible experience of holding and reading a physical book, as opposed to digital reading on gadgets.
This marks the third appearance of Big Bad Wolf in Kelantan, promising a broader selection of books at discounted prices. The collection will span various genres suitable for all ages, with 70 percent dedicated to children's books, including waterproof editions designed for newborns.
