Bina Darulaman Says External Auditor’s Resignation A Routine Governance Practice

ALOR SETAR, Bina Darulaman Bhd today clarified that the resignation of its external auditor, KPMG PLT, effective Sept 9, 2024, was part of a routine governance practice.

The auditor’s resignation followed the extension of its tenure, which spanned ten years from the financial year 2014 to 2023, the group said in a statement.

‘Bina Darulaman’s board of directors appreciates the services of KPMG and looks forward to continuing a positive relationship during this transition,’ it said.

It stated that KPMG has not audited this year’s financial reports yet, so this transition will not affect its financial integrity.

‘The group has shortlisted BDO PLT as the new auditor, pending the completion of the official documentation to finalise the appointment and align with strategic objectives,’ it said.

The property developer also emphasised that this transition will not impact its operations.

‘The group is dedicated to its business activities and will continue to meet all regulatory requirements.

‘The board is con
fident that the change in external auditors will ensure a smooth continuation of the financial reporting process and enable the company to benefit from fresh perspectives and views of another audit firm,’ it said.

Bina Darulaman also said that it remains fully committed to upholding the highest standards of corporate governance, following the guidelines set out in the Malaysian Code of Corporate Governance 2021.
