BN Adopts Positive Campaign Strategy in Ayer Kuning By-Election

Ayer Kuning: Barisan Nasional (BN) is concentrating on promoting its candidate during the Ayer Kuning state by-election campaign, as opposed to engaging in attacks against its rivals, said UMNO vice-president Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Johari emphasized that this approach brings the coalition closer to the people and illustrates BN’s political maturity in winning voters’ hearts respectfully. He explained that BN aims to differentiate itself from other parties by focusing on its candidate rather than negative campaigning. This was conveyed to reporters after Johari met with the BN by-election machinery at the Kampung Rahmat polling district.

Johari, who is also the Plantation and Commodities Minister, highlighted the effective collaboration between BN and the Pakatan Harapan (PH) machinery in supporting BN’s candidate, Dr. Mohamad Yusri Bakir. This cooperation showcases the strong partnership within the Unity Government. He expressed confidence that with a good party, candidate, and united machinery, success is likely, and urged continued hard work till the campaign’s conclusion.

Meanwhile, BN secretary-general Datuk Seri Dr. Zambry Abd Kadir stated that a moderate campaign approach can preserve harmony among the various races in the Ayer Kuning constituency. Zambry, also the Higher Education Minister, noted that the unity among races in Ayer Kuning has been long-standing, thanks to the multiracial leadership in the Tapah parliamentary constituency. He recalled similar unity during his tenure as the Menteri Besar of Perak, where leadership consisted of diverse backgrounds, symbolizing the people’s unity.

The Ayer Kuning by-election, scheduled for Saturday, April 26, will feature a three-way contest between Mohamad Yusri from BN, Perikatan Nasional’s (PN) Abd Muhaimin Malek, and Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) candidate Bawani KS. This by-election follows the death of the BN incumbent, Ishsam Shahruddin, on February 22.
