BN Deputy Chairman Mohamad Praises Sabah’s ‘Calm’ Campaign

Kota kinabalu: With five days to go before polling, Barisan Nasional (BN) deputy chairman Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan has described the campaign for the 17th Sabah State Election as healthy and calm, reflecting the political maturity of voters. Mohamad, who is also UMNO deputy president, said that although there were occasional instances of rather harsh campaign tones, overall, there had been no tension like what was seen in previous elections.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mohamad expressed his satisfaction with the peaceful nature of the election campaign in Sabah. He noted the absence of tension, which was a notable improvement compared to past elections. He highlighted the political maturity of the people of Sabah, acknowledging their ability to accept and express their views. He commended the manner in which candidates were campaigning, focusing on presenting manifestos and explaining their plans to the voters.

Mohamad also commented on the effectiveness of BN’s election machinery. He praised the organization and energy of the teams, mentioning the support from ‘adoptive states’ from the Peninsula that aided in managing the election in a structured way. He urged the teams to continue their efforts until the final day of the campaign.

He expressed hope that young voters would support BN candidates, particularly in constituencies where they constitute the majority. With polling set for November 29 and early voting scheduled for tomorrow, the campaign enters its final stages.
