BN, UMNO Assert Zero Tolerance for Mismanagement at Tabung Haji: Ahmad Zahid

Kuala lumpur: Barisan Nasional (BN) and UMNO will not tolerate any breach of trust or mismanagement involving Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH), BN chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi stated firmly. Ahmad Zahid, who also serves as Deputy Prime Minister, emphasized that individuals involved in any wrongdoing or mismanagement within government agencies and statutory bodies must be held accountable.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ahmad Zahid made these remarks after attending the Rural and Regional Development Ministry's monthly gathering. He stressed the importance of facing consequences for such actions and expressed that there should be no compromise when dealing with breaches of trust and mismanagement.

A special parliamentary session is scheduled for August 11 to debate the findings of the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) report on Lembaga Tabung Haji. The RCI report, released on July 29, called for a forensic audit into past investment decisions that led to a considerable decline in TH's asset value. The RCI, which examined the management and operations of TH from 2014 to 2020, uncovered suspicious transactions and the concealment of information, sparking the need for further investigation and accountability.
