Marudi: Body parts of an elderly man reported missing while fishing in Sungai Ridan, Marudi, yesterday have been found. The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department said Liew Mei Koon, 64, is believed to have been killed in a crocodile attack.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, at 10:52 am today, the search and rescue team discovered parts of the victim's body, namely two legs, a head, and a hand. The search operation concluded at 4 pm as the remaining body parts could not be found. The remains were handed over to the police for further action, as stated by the department in a statement today.
The department received a call regarding the victim's disappearance at 9:20 am yesterday. A team from the Marudi Fire and Rescue Station was subsequently deployed to the location at Jalan Industri, Sungai Ridan. The victim was reported missing by his younger brother after his motorcycle, clothing, and fishing equipment were found beneath the Sungai Ridan bridge.
