Kuala lumpur: Budget 2026 reflects the MADANI Government's vision of building a more resilient, inclusive, and forward-looking Malaysia, said Lembaga Tabung Angkatan Tentera (LTAT) Chief Executive Officer Mohammad Ashraf Md Radzi. He stated that LTAT supports this vision through responsible investments aimed at strengthening defence-related industries, enhancing the welfare of Armed Forces personnel, and generating long-term value for contributors and the nation.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mohammad Ashraf highlighted that Budget 2026, as the fourth MADANI Budget and the first under the 13th Malaysia Plan, lays a strong foundation for sustainable and inclusive national growth. The total allocation of RM470 billion, including RM30 billion for GLIC investments under the GEAR-uP initiative, reinforces the government's focus on fiscal responsibility, economic resilience, and shared prosperity.
Mohammad Ashraf further mentioned that as one of the investment institutions fully focused on the domestic market, LTAT and its group of companies are committed to supporting the government's economic and social priorities. These priorities span across strategic sectors such as defence, healthcare, agriculture, real estate, and Bumiputera economic empowerment.
He also noted that the increase in GLIC investments from RM25 billion to RM30 billion will further strengthen LTAT's capacity to generate long-term value through its Group of Companies. Additionally, the RM21.7 billion allocation for the Defence Ministry demonstrates the government's continued commitment to national security, including RM6 billion for the maintenance and procurement of new defence assets.
