Johor: The Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) in Johor has implemented stricter monitoring measures at petrol stations, especially those located near the Johor-Singapore border. This initiative aims to prevent foreign vehicles from refuelling with RON95 petrol, following the introduction of BUDI MADANI RON95.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Johor KPDN director Lilis Saslinda Pornomo stated that despite challenges posed by a limited number of enforcement personnel, KPDN officers will conduct random inspections regularly. This is to ensure that RON95 petrol, which is reserved for Malaysians, is not used by foreign vehicles.
Lilis emphasized the responsibility of petrol station operators in ensuring compliance with the regulations, urging them to direct foreign vehicles to refuel with RON97 instead. She highlighted that citizens from neighbouring countries, such as Singapore, are already aware of their ineligibility to use RON95 petrol.
Furthermore, Johor KPDN will organize Client Day sessions from tomorrow until October 7. These sessions aim to provide information and facilitate the registration process for the Subsidised Petrol Control System (SKPS). Targeted groups such as logistics companies, taxi operators, rental car services, and school van operators are encouraged to participate.
