Perak: The school administration and a teacher who recently claimed to have been bullied and subjected to psychological pressure are being urged to collaborate in resolving the issue, prioritizing the students' interests.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Perak Education, Higher Education, Youth and Sports Committee chairman Datuk Khairudin Abu Hanipah emphasized the importance of both parties adopting a conciliatory approach rather than blaming each other. He stated that the District Education Office and the Perak Education Department have been tasked with investigating the allegations, and the investigation is now complete. The findings were documented in the Public Complaints Management System (SISPAA).

A teacher at a school in Chemor had reported being subjected to bullying, intimidation, and emotional distress at her workplace between March and May. Khairudin clarified that he is not assigning blame to either side, as both parties have their own evidence and arguments. He stressed the need for adherence to the processes and procedures established by the Ministry of Education.

Regarding the teacher's allegation of suffering seizures, Khairudin noted that this claim should be verified by the attending medical officer. He urged patience, indicating that assumptions should be avoided until the medical report is available.

In a related statement, Perak Education director Zulkafli Mohamed Mokhtar acknowledged that the issue had garnered attention on social media. He reassured that the Perak Education Department (JPN) takes all complaints seriously and is dedicated to handling them professionally and transparently, in line with existing regulations and procedures, while safeguarding teachers' welfare.

Furthermore, Zulkafli mentioned that since March 2026, the Perak JPN, in collaboration with the District Education Office (PPD), had been taking follow-up actions, including engagement sessions, reviews, monitoring, and coordination with relevant parties to address the concerns raised.

The Perak JPN remains committed to prioritizing the welfare and well-being of all parties involved, ensuring harmony in the school environment and the smooth operation of educational institutions. The department is dedicated to handling complaints fairly, with integrity and accountability, in the best interests of the education community.
